Isn't it funny that in the next day, hour or even second, everything will disappear. All of the memories, thoughts, and people will vanish completely off of the face of the earth. There will be no more problems, issues or arguments. Everyone will forget everything they've ever known. Everything will just be, GONE.

The Color Purple.
I've seen "The Color Purple" multiple times and every time I watch it, I seem to get sadder. I love the movie and there isn't a scene that isn't amazing. It is a very inspiring movie. I love how the movie was written, filmed and edited. Unlike most movies, I can watch "The Color Purple" from the beginning, middle or even when it is about to end. I think it is a great movie that everyone should watch. It is sad, funny, and inspiring all in one. I can't wait to finish watching it in class!

"Dreams don't come true overnight"
Nandi Ralph
October 1st, 2013
English I
Mr.Huston
My name is Nandi
Christina Ralph. I was born on March 15th, 1998 in Secaucus, New
Jersey to my mother Jahan, a Caribbean-American and my father Fred, an African
American. However, my mom was only 17 when she had me, so my Caribbean grandparents
raised the both of us (My mom and I), which inspires my taste in music, food,
and sometimes clothes. My family always taught me to respect elders, which is
why I never forget to say “Yes please and No please” and why I always greet
adults. I have no siblings, however, my 20 year old aunt plays the role of an
older sister. We go to the movies together, go to the park together, take walks
and much more. Because my mom is so young, she is also like a sister. We listen
to the same music, take each other’s Facebook pictures, and sometimes wear our
hair in the same styles. If it weren’t for my family, I don’t know what I would
do.
At the age of three, I attended St.Patricks
Catholic School. I was taught by my wonderful family to spell, read and create
sentences before I even began Kindergarten. When I graduated and went on to
kindergarten, I was the smartest 5 year old. I had the opportunity to read a 4th
grade book to the 4th grade class. Each marking period, I received
honor roll. I was so used to it, that after a while it was no longer exciting.
I left St.Patricks in 4th grade, and went on to complete 5th
grade at Schomburg Charter School. I won the class spelling bee and graduated
with a writing award and “Future American Idol Award”. For middle school, I
attended James F Murray, which was my first public school and one of my worst
experiences. Prior to attending 38, I’d only hear bad things about public
schools in the newspaper. I didn’t want to stand out in a bad way, so I thought
I had to change myself so that everyone would like me. It worked. I began
speaking differently, acting differently and became disinterested in my work. I
left 38 in 7th grade and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic
School. My grades improved in Sacred Heart, but they were nothing compared to
what they were before. Freshman year of high school, I attended Marist High
School in Bayonne, New Jersey. Marist is ranked one of the best private high
schools in New Jersey. I didn’t do too well there. I was surrounded by friends from
all the different schools that I attended. I felt terrible because my mom was
paying about $10,000 and I never brought home straight A’s. Now, sophomore
year, I go to East Orange Campus High. I don’t like it too much, but I’m only
worried about my school work right now.
In my spare time, I love to create films
and take pictures. I take pictures of everything: Animals, Trees, Clouds, and
even door knobs. When I was 9 years old, my uncle went on vacation, and while
he was away my family and I created a video diary for him. Since then, I’ve
been obsessed with cameras. I filmed and edited my first YouTube video on May 5th,
2009. After getting a lot of positive feedback, I decided to continue. I began
making videos every week, which I continue to do, which gained me Social media
success on various websites. I started an organization called “New Jersey Dream
Chasers” in 2012, to teach inner city kids more about computers and photography
in hopes to keep them off of the street and inspire them to stay in school. I also
love to dance and play piano. I started dancing when I was two, and loved to do
“The crybaby”. I began Piano at 5, ballet at 7, and Hip Hop at 12. I play piano
almost every day, and sometimes try to squeeze in a few new dance moves.
This year, my
goal is to maintain a straight A average. I will not settle for anything less
than a 90. I promise myself to ask questions when I don’t understand, rather
than staring at the board and pretending that I know what is going on. I want
to succeed, and graduate from high school.
The graduation rate at Campus High is only 67%, I want to be a part of
that 67%.
I hope to attend
the New York film academy for college and in the next ten years, I hope to work
at a photography studio, or even open my own. Later on in life, I want to be a
famous director or photographer. I want to inspire kids and teens. I will achieve
this by studying and paying attention. I know my dreams will come true if I
just stay focused and understand that it all won’t happen overnight.
